Once the digging was finished, Mike Huston started setting the footing tubes — heavy cardboard forms sunk into the holes we’d cut through the clay. Each one filled with concrete, level, and spaced with the precision of a craftsman who knows how structure carries weight.
When the last tube set, the timber sub-frame went on top. That’s when the whole thing started to feel real — the first horizontal lines of what will become the floor of Midnight Falcon Studio.
There’s something satisfying about seeing those posts and beams locked in place. Simple, honest construction done right. No shortcuts, no prefab. Just solid work and experience shaping the base that will hold everything to come.
The frame goes next, and with it, the shape of the studio starts to rise.
