Finished Exterior – “Awaiting Power”

By the time the doors and windows went in, the Falcon looked complete from the outside — deck finished, siding tight, roof sealed against the weather. What had been raw boards and dust now stood solid against the ridge, quiet and still. Mike packed up his tools for the last time, leaving behind a space that felt more like a promise than a building.

The Build

The final days were all detail work — trim, door fittings, last bits of hardware. The deck came together perfectly, a small stage for mornings and coffee before the day starts. Everything lined up square and true, like Mike had planned it in his head long before the first cut. Now all that was left was power — wiring, lights, and the hum that brings a place to life. The Falcon stood waiting, still and patient, the way any new creation does right before it wakes up.

The Meaning

This stage felt different. The noise was gone, the sawdust settled, and the structure stood on its own. It’s the moment between building and becoming — the quiet breath before work begins.

The studio is more than walls and boards; it’s the frame for what comes next. Mike built the space, but it’ll earn its name when the first piece is made inside it. That’s when the Falcon truly takes flight.

“It stands, ready to come alive.”
